 really what is the roll of ksrtc in Kerala. how much amount it uses from the public fund and the same is writing off every year. Not paying any road tax and other expense including Police station. They are the first person to increase the bus-fare. Still it is not a profit making company. Not dividing as divisions for better management and Analise.  How come private bus operators implementing new bus and luxury felicity to passengers with pleasant behavior. In which way KSRTC helping to control the market like our Supplyco

You are correct

Ksrtc is not expected to be functioned depending up on mere profit.It is also service oriented.There are so many routes run by KSRTC in remote areas of the state where private buses are reluctant to ply. (The financial assistance given by the government can only be considered as a compensation for this loss. )Similarly there are trips where private bus operators refuse to operate.For example the last KSRTCbus from Koyilandy to Thamarassery is by 9PM and the last KSRTC bus from Thamarassery to Koyilandy is by 9.15PM.Though majority of the service operation in this route is done by private bus operators, they are reluctant to operate these trips. Both these trips are packed with passengers. What will the passengers do if these trips are canceled?

Have you ever noticed the buses plying in Kozhikode --Kuttiyadi route which is also not nationalized? People prefer KSRTC for their journey.Why???

Take the case of Wynad route which is nationalized.People travel in both private and KSRTC buses.

The fact is we need both private and public sector. People will chose whichever is more convinient. There should not be any kind of monopoly in the transport sector.It is in such a situation the private bus owners hesitate to pressurize the Government by declaring strike.

It is easy to criticize a public sector undertaking by projecting its demerits.KSRTC is destined to satisfy the interests of the politicians ,the employees and the public. KSRTC is the largest establishment giving different categories of employment opportunities to the unemployed.It spends Rs:91.7crores per year for social obligation in the form of bus concession.It will not be a white elephant if the Government is ready to pay the pension and pensionery benefits.(The expense for pension is almost equal to the salary bill of the employees!!.)How ever within these limitations it has been rendering essential and economical transport service to the public of Kerala.------------------BEERANKOYA
